We extend a welcome to new (and of course regular) clients. Most of the time, first contact comes in the way of a telephone enquiry, ”this is my case, can you help ?” The answer, in all probability, will be, “yes” but that comes after we have discussed the case. It may take half an hour but costs you nothing. While we are interested in establishing a working relationship with a new client, we must ensure that it will be of value to him before we will accept an assignment.

To retain our services just call, fax, mail or email whichever you prefer. Assignments range from major incidents involving several parties and injuries to minor cases of doubtful credibility. The analytical approach remains the same though obviously scaled to the event. In all cases however, the trail grows cold. The sooner we can commence an investigation, the better the chances of obtaining available evidence.

Where exposure is potentially large, calls have been received within an hour or two of an accident and we have been on the way in just a few minutes to document the scene. From experience we know what to photograph and measure and how to gather data that might otherwise be lost. At this stage a client may not know the extent of his involvement but may recognize the value of obtaining the evidence first and considering his vunerability under less pressured conditions. His instruction to us might be to obtain the data but do nothing further until instructed.

At the other end of the spectrum our first notice of an assignment may be a package through the mail. It will contain some or all of the following:

This will familiarize us with the case and allow us to determine whether additional data, inspections or tests are required. Discussions with the client will define the extent of work.
